Current Crises, Social Issues, City Role and Services

Updated: 2 days ago

I am very concerned and saddened by the deadly "3D's", that many Calgarians are faced with:

1- Debts.

2- Depression leading to drug dependency or suicide.

3- Divorce rate that is increasing.

The pandemic and economic challenges are affecting mental health.

WE ARE FACED WITH CRISES AND IT IS MY NO.1 PRIORITY

I will move immediately to utilize and mobilize all resources to deal with the fallout from the pandemic, lift up and support those who have been affected.

The enemy is COVID-19, not "the other people"

I will be the “information and education mayor”, providing all kinds of information/data to assist Calgarians in making informed, and Intelligent decisions and choices for themselves.

*I would not preside over a divided city nor take sides.

For the unvaccinated, the current rules are:

A) providing a legitimate medical exemption.

B) Negative COVID 19 medical test.

C) Continue to follow the hygiene and protection protocol.

- For the vaccinated, I encourage them to keep practicing the hygiene protocol, (you can be vaccinated, but, also can be a virus carrier).

- Private medical information must be protected, all the time.

Our goal is to get this virus under control and allow Calgarians and hospitals to resume normal functions.

PLEASE DO NOT LOSE HOPE OR GIVE IN TO DEPRESSION.

Read this card below, which I have designed, printed and shared this year with many Calgarians, including nurses, to help in keeping up your positive energy and hope.

Social issues:

- Ending homelessness and poverty

I am supporting:

- Fair Entry

- Low income community resources

- Access to food
